Locks Cruise Tour
Argosy's 2-1/2 hour Locks tour takes you through the salt water of Puget Sound and the fresh water of Lake Union via the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (locals refer to them as the Ballard Locks). Enjoy the live narration of the Seattle harbor tour, then experience a one-of-a-kind event as you travel through the Locks themselves. See how the locks work as the boat is lifted to the fresh water level. As you leave the locks, you’ll learn about Seattle’s fishing communities, the Deadliest Catch boats, the Sleepless in Seattle floating home community and Gas Works Park. Your tour also includes a 20-minute motor coach transfer.
Part of your Locks trip includes a motorcoach ride, so you’ll always start and end your trip at the same location along the Seattle waterfront. The motorcoach ride may happen before or after the cruise. If you can provide your own transportation to your vessel's starting position or back to Pier 55, let our Guest Services staff know while making your reservation or as you pick up your boarding passes.
- Make reservations. Making reservations online is convenient and easy -- plus, we offer booking discounts for reservations made 28 days in advance! You can also make reservations by calling our Guest Services staff at 206-623-1445, or you can buy tickets in person at your departure location the day of your sailing. We recommend making reservations on sunny weekends, as those tours can sell out. Book your Locks Cruise HERE.
- Pick up boarding passes. Guests with reservations can pick up their boarding passes (tickets) the day of their cruise at their departure location. If you are using CityPASS to sail with us, you will need to exchange your Argosy Cruises voucher for one of our boarding passes. If anyone in your group has special boarding needs (a wheelchair, for example), tell our staff at this time so they can have crew ready to assist you.
- Board your vessel. Just prior to boarding, Guest services staff will tear the stubs off your boarding passes -- please have the first member of your group hold all the tickets to help speed things along. On most cruises, we also have photo staff take your group's picture with a life ring to commemorate your trip with us. You can purchase these souvenir photos at the end of your trip, or online later (password required).
Please note that due to the construction of the Mercer Corridor, we may run into heavier traffic than anticipated on the 3:50pm and 5pm departures and thus run late. Thank you for your patience as Seattle seeks to updates its streets!
No cruises on Christmas Day. Reservations highly recommended; sailings can sell out quickly!
Please call to verify schedule during 4th of July, Seafair Weekend and Husky Home Football game days.
