Fund For Those In Need x Argosy Cruises

The Annual Christmas Ship™ Festival Concludes

A yearly tradition to the Seattle community, the Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship™ Festival adds another great season to the books. This year, many of you have created memories and shared this festive experience with friends, family, and loved ones. This annual festival not only spreads holiday cheer, but very importantly supports The Seattle Times, Fund For Those In Need, a non-profit  supporting many local organizations throughout the Puget Sound area providing programs, assistance, and both emotional/educational support for various needs.

This partnership between Argosy Cruises and The Seattle Times has been ongoing since 1996. Every year a portion of ticket and onboard sales is donated to The Fund For Those In Need. Not only is the Annual Christmas Ship™ Festival a joyous event for those to experience onboard and onshore, but it is one of Argosy's largest fundraising efforts where we directly give back to the community.

For 2023, Argosy Cruises set a donation goal of $45,000.....which we are happy to announce we have MET!  We are proud to present a $45,000 check to president of The Seattle Times, Alan Fisco. This will now bring our donation total over the years to a sum of about $800,000. We are so happy to contribute this most recent amount to the Puget Sound Community & The Fund.

Give Any Time of the Year

The Fund For Those In Need has been supporting local agencies for 45 years, providing vital services and resources for many throughout the Greater Seattle Area. There are a total of 13 local agencies supported by The Fund. Although the holiday season is known for being a time of giving, don't forget that support and resources are needed year-round. Ride the Christmas Ship™ knowing a portion of your ticket is helping those in need or make a more direct impact and donate through their website. Below are a few of the organizations who benefit from The Fund:

  • ATLANTIC STREET CENTER: Supports families and communities with raising healthy, successful children and youth through direct services and advocacy for social justice and equity
  • TREEHOUSE: Helping kids in foster care through programs that help them succeed in school, fulfill key material needs, and provide important childhood experiences
  • LIFEWIRE: Supports survivors of domestic violence on their path towards safety, stability, and healing
