Montlake Cut

Man-made channel built to connect Lake Union and Lake Washington, completed in 1917. Concrete support walls become covered with graffiti each spring to cheer on crew teams rowing in the Windermere Cup races head in the Cut every first Saturday in May (Opening Day).
