#MeetUsMonday – Senior Sales Executive

Peter Robinson: Senior Sales Executive, Social and Civic

Argosy Cruises Team Member since 1994
Current Department: Sales
Hometown: outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Peter is one of our Argosy rock stars who has worked in many different departments over the years: Guest Services, Front Desk, even Maintenance. But gracious customer service and attention is his specialty, and in the Sales Department he shines. Gently guiding his clients through every step of the private charter and event creation process, Peter crafts amazing experiences, from the AHOY of a new lead all the way through the BON VOYAGE of a finished event. In fact, Peter is our featured team member this week as part of #MeetUsMonday – Senior Sales Executive.

What is your favorite Argosy cruise?

The Locks is my favorite. Our little mini Panama Canal.

What makes Argosy such a unique place to work?

Our culture — we sell fun, and we have fun doing it. As you’ll see in #MeetUsMonday – Senior Sales Executive, every team member brings their own personality.

What other Argosy department would you job shadow for a day?

I’ve done almost everything here — Guest Services, Front Desk, Maintenance…I guess it would have to be Marketing. Or Accounting. [shudders]

What is your favorite Seattle waterfront stop (besides us)?

The Olympic Sculpture Park and Myrtle Edwards Park. I like to go there for inspiration.

What is your favorite thing to do in town when you are not working?

Happy Hour, with food! #MeetUsMonday – Senior Sales Executive spotlights team members’ top local picks.

What is your favorite component of our cruises?

We have the best crew, who are the most fun. They really make the event for our customers.

If you could charter one of our boats, which one would it be, where would you cruise, and what would you do?

I’d do casino games on the first deck, and a DJ upstairs on the Lady Mary. Food would be tray-passed hors d’ourvres and a buffet station, because this is a PARTY and not a sit-down banquet. And I’d have us cruising in the Duwamish River at night. It is like being on another planet when it is lit up. Lastly, this story is a perfect fit for our #MeetUsMonday – Senior Sales Executive series.
